Allens has advised ANZ, CBA, Deutsche Bank, HSBC and Westpac on the A$430 million project financing of Stage 1 of the Kondinin Wind Farm in Western Australia, being developed by Foresight.
The financing supports the delivery of the 130MW first stage of the project and marks financial close for a significant renewable energy investment that will contribute to Western Australia’s energy transition.
Partner and Head of Project Finance Michael Ryan said: ‘Kondinin reflects the growing maturity of Australia’s renewable energy market, where projects are increasingly supported by a combination of government-backed revenue mechanisms, long-term offtake arrangements and strong lender participation. We were pleased to support the lending syndicate on a financing that will help bring new renewable generation capacity into Western Australia’s electricity system.’
The project has been recognised as a Priority Project by the Western Australian Government under the State Development Act 2025, reflecting its strategic and economic significance to the state.
The matter builds on Allens’ recent work advising lenders on the portfolio platform financing of Foresight’s Australian Renewables Income Fund, further reinforcing the firm’s experience advising financiers on complex renewable energy financings across Australia.
