Andrews’ healthcare crisis hits children’s surgery

Liberal Party Victoria

Today Victorians deserve straight answers over reports that critical surgery continues to be wound back at a major Victorian hospital.

Reports have revealed that surgery at the Royal Children’s Hospital is facing further delays as public hospital waiting lists blow out towards 100,000 people.

Local communities across Victoria continue to be let down and held back by Daniel Andrews’ failing healthcare system.

This week up to 14 ambulances transporting sick Victorians were ramped at Maroondah hospital as the Andrews Labor Government was caught out lying about triple-zero response times dating back to 2016.

Furthermore, the closure of Portland Health’s maternity ward has left dozens of mothers “devastated” and worried they will be giving birth by the side of the road.

Shadow Minister for Health, Georgie Crozier said Victoria’s healthcare crisis was the result of years of mismanagement by the Andrews Labor Government.

“Before COVID, Victoria had the worst funded, lowest staffed and poorest performing emergency departments of any state in the nation.”

“More Labor spin and lies won’t get triple-zero calls answered on time, cut surgery waitlists or get ambulances to people in need.”

“Only a Matthew Guy Liberals and Nationals Government will fix Victoria’s healthcare crisis.”
