At its meeting last week, Campaspe Shire Council received Council’s 2025/26 Annual Report, providing an overview of Council’s achievements, services, advocacy, governance, projects and performance during the past financial year.
The report outlines Council’s progress against the Council and Wellbeing Plan 2025-2029, showcasing key projects, capital works, community initiatives and strategic planning. It includes Council’s audited financial and performance statements and provides a snapshot of Council services and their use by the community.
The 2025/26 financial year saw Council deliver a significant capital works program across the shire, investing in roads, community facilities, recreation infrastructure and public spaces to support growing communities and improve liveability. Just one of the major projects to come to fruition was the Victoria Park Boat Ramp in Echuca, while Stage 1 of Kyabram’s Wilf Cox Pavilion redevelopment neared completion.
The report also highlights Council’s success in securing external funding. Major road funding outcomes included support to the tune of $6.3 million for upgrades to Davis Road and Two Tree Road at Carag Carag, while $3.95 million was secured from the Victorian Government towards funding a new Rochester aquatic facility.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Cr Daniel Mackrell said the report reflected Council’s commitment to transparency, accountability and delivering positive outcomes for the community.
“The Annual Report provides a clear picture of what Council has delivered for the community over the past 12 months and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to open and accountable reporting,” Cr Mackrell said.
“It’s pleasing to see the breadth of projects delivered across the shire, from major infrastructure works through to community programs and strategic initiatives.
“Our strong capital works program and success in attracting grant funding have allowed us to invest in projects that will benefit our communities now and into the future.”
