Annual Report now available

Horsham Rural City Council’s 2021-2022 Annual Report was endorsed at the October Council Meeting and is now available to view online.

The report documents Council’s achievements and activities during the 2021-2022 financial year and reports against the first year of the 2021-2025 Council Plan, focusing on five key themes of community, liveability, sustainability, accessibility and leadership.

Some of the highlights from the report include:

Events and projects

  • The development of Horsham’s silo art project
  • The completion of a new 244,000 m³ waste cell at Dooen Landfill
  • Site works completed at the Dooen Wimmera Agriculture and Logistics Hub
  • Drawcard arts and culture events including the Dress Maker exhibition and Town Hall shows from Human Nature, The Rubens, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Bluey
  • New public toilets
  • The Station (youth centre) Refurbishment
  • Riverfront and caravan park improvements

State and Federal Government advocacy wins

  • $2.35 million to construct the Hamilton Street Pedestrian Bridge
  • $5 million for reconstruction across five of our most important rural connector roads
  • $2 million to build the multipurpose stage at Horsham City Oval
  • $175,887 for Quantong Recreation Reserve oval resurfacing.
