ANZ today announced its ANZ Research team has been recognised among the world’s leading economic forecasters in the 2026 FocusEconomics Analyst Forecast Awards, achieving 19 top-three rankings – more than double the eight the team received in 2025. 1
The awards benchmark around 350 leading research teams globally, including major international banks and economic institutions, highlighting the consistency and accuracy of ANZ Research’s forecasts across key markets and commodities.
Highlights for ANZ Research in the 2026 awards include:
- Best Overall Forecaster for New Zealand’s economy as well as Best Forecaster for New Zealand GDP
- Best Forecaster for Gold, Silver and Coking coal
- Ranked as #2 Forecaster for South Korea overall, and Australia and Hong Kong interest rates
- Ranked as #3 Forecaster for Eurozone and Taiwan overall, and LNG
These results reflect ANZ Research’s continued strength across both regional economies and global commodity markets.
ANZ Group Chief Economist, Richard Yetsenga, said the recognition underscores the team’s collaborative and disciplined approach.
“These results are a strong endorsement of the consistency and quality of ANZ Research. Forecasting in today’s environment is increasingly complex, with global uncertainty, shifting policy settings and structural change all at play.
“Our team’s focus remains on providing clear, timely insights to help our customers and stakeholders navigate that complexity, and it’s pleasing to see that recognised against such a broad and competitive global peer set.”
