Appeal after man robbed at gunpoint at Hurstville, NSW

Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery in Sydney’s south at the weekend.

Just after 12pm on Sunday (12 January 2020), police have been told a 29-year-old man had arranged to buy two mobile phones through an online trading website and was contacted by another man regarding the sale.

The men agreed to meet in the car park on Hudson Street, Hurstville, about 8pm the same day.

Police have been told when the 29-year-old man drove into the carpark, an armed man approached and threatened him.

He then smashed the front driver’s side window with the firearm before stealing cash from the vehicle.

The man suffered minor injuries.

Officers from St George Police Area Command were notified and commenced an investigation.

As inquiries continue, detectives urge any witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision in the area at the time to come forward.
