Appeal after pedestrian seriously injured in crash; later dies in hospital, NSW

Police are appealing for public assistance as they investigate a pedestrian crash in North Sydney last month.

Shortly after 10.10am on Thursday 16 June 2022, a 77-year-old woman was attempting to cross the Pacific Highway at Greenwich, approximately 100 metres north of Westbourne Street, when she was hit by a Mercedes sedan travelling northbound.

The driver stopped and rendered assistance; the woman was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital, where she later died on Saturday 25 June 2022.

Police have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

As inquiries continue, police are urging anyone who may have dashcam footage from the Pacific Highway at Greenwich at the time of the incident, or who may have information which could assist investigators, to contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
