Appeal after police car rammed in Padstow

Police are investigating after a vehicle rammed a police car this afternoon.

About 4.50pm (Tuesday 21 July 2020), a Traffic and Highway Patrol car stopped a Nissan Patrol Dual Cab on Fairfield Road, Padstow, after it was seen driving dangerously.

As an officer was approaching the vehicle, the driver allegedly reversed into the police car before driving away.

Police commenced a pursuit for a short distance before the utility stopped on the road and again allegedly reversed into the Traffic and Highway Patrol car before driving away.

Officers did not pursue the car due to safety concerns.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command are urging anyone who may see the vehicle to not approach the driver but instead contact Triple Zero (000).

The vehicle has QLD registration ‘OSA001’ and has an offensive sticker on the back.
