Appeal for dash cam after Clayton South fatal crash

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage following a fatal crash in Clayton South last Friday.

It is understood a 2004 red Toyota Corolla was travelling north along Clayton Road when the driver veered and crashed into a power pole about 2pm on 14 August.

The front passenger, an 85-year-old Clarinda woman, was taken to hospital with serious injuries but sadly died on 20 August.

The driver, a 55-year-old Clarinda woman, was transported to hospital for observation but has since been released.

Detectives are investigating the cause of the crash and urge anyone who witnessed it or with dash cam footage to come forward.
