Appeal for information following break and enter – Narrabri

Police are appealing for information following a break and enter in the state’s North West Slopes region this morning.

About 5am today (Friday 31 July 2026), officers attached to Oxley Police District were called to a home on Balonne Street, Narrabri, after reports of a break and enter.

Police arrived and were told two people had forced entry into a garage on the property and rummaged through items, before attempting to open a door into the home.

The pair were then reportedly disturbed by a security system at the residence and fled the scene.

A man, woman and infant were inside the home at the time; they were uninjured.

Officers attached to Oxley Police District attended the home immediately, however; despite extensive patrols, the alleged intruders were unable to be located.

Police established a crime scene and investigations are ongoing.

As inquiries continue, police are urging anyone with information about this incident – including mobile phone/dashcam or CCTV footage that relates – to contact Narrabri Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
