Police are appealing for information following a break and enter in the state’s New England region overnight.
About 12.20am today (Friday 31 July 2026), officers attached to Oxley Police District were called to a unit on Boundary Street, Wee Waa, after reports of a break and enter.
Police arrived and were told the resident – a man in his 40s – had awoken to find a man inside the residence who then fled on foot. Several sets of car keys were reported missing from the residence.
The resident chased the man outside – during which time the alleged intruder dropped a bladed object in a nearby backyard. The blade was seized by officers.
Officers established a crime scene and investigations are ongoing.
