Appeal over multi vehicle crash – Eastwood

Police are appealing for dashcam footage following a fatal multi-vehicle crash in Eastwood yesterday.

About 1.30pm (Wednesday 12 July 2023), emergency services were called to a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Blaxland Road and First Avenue, Eastwood.

Officers attached to Ryde Police Area Command arrived to find a Mitsubishi SUV, Holden Commodore, Kia SUV, Toyota sedan, Audi hatchback and a van had crashed.

A 61-year-old female passenger of the Holden was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics but died at the scene.

The 67-year-old female driver of the Holden was treated and taken to Westmead hospital in a critical condition.

The other passenger of the Holden, a 63-year-old woman was taken to Royal North Shore hospital also in a critical condition.

The 31-year-old male driver of the Mitsubishi was treated for a head injury at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Royal North Shore hospital in a stable condition.

The other drivers aged between 23 and 49 years old were uninjured and taken to several hospitals for mandatory testing.

The Mitsubishi and Holden have been seized to undergo forensic examination.

Police established a crime scene which was examined by specialist officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit.

An investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
