Aquamoves has again achieved Life Saving Victoria’s Platinum Pool accreditation, recognising the centre’s continued commitment to aquatic safety.
The accreditation is awarded to facilities that demonstrate sustained excellence in safety, supervision and risk management.
To achieve Platinum status, facilities must pass an annual Pool Safety Assessment with Gold endorsement, achieving 100 per cent compliance and a safety score of at least 95 per cent. They must also complete two Mystery Guest Visits and achieve recognition through the Watch Around Water and SwimSafe programs.
Acting Aquamoves Centre Manager Leanne Johansson said retaining Platinum accreditation reflects the work undertaken every day to provide a safe environment for the community.
“When people visit Aquamoves, we want them to feel confident that their safety is being taken seriously every time they walk through our doors,” she said.
“Retaining Platinum accreditation is recognition of the work our team puts in every day, from lifeguard supervision and staff training to emergency preparedness and the systems we have in place behind the scenes.”
“It is particularly meaningful because the accreditation involves independent assessment of how we operate in real conditions. It shows our community that maintaining high standards of aquatic safety is something we continually work towards,” Ms Johansson said.
“This is an achievement our entire Aquamoves team can be proud of, and we will continue working to provide a safe and welcoming place for our community.”
Life Saving Victoria General Manager Aquatic Capability, Andy Dennis congratulated Greater Shepparton City Council and Aquamoves on again achieving the accreditation.
“Life Saving Victoria has a long-standing partnership with Aquamoves and we congratulate the Greater Shepparton City Council and Aquamoves team on again achieving Platinum Pool accreditation,” he said.
“With the warmer months ahead and Victorians preparing to spend more time in and around the water, maintaining high standards of safety across aquatic facilities is critically important. Platinum Pool accreditation recognises the ongoing commitment of Aquamoves to strong safety practices, capable staff and providing a safe environment for the community.
“Aquamoves makes an important contribution well beyond water safety and drowning prevention. It is a valued community asset that supports physical activity, social connection, health and wellbeing, and provides opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy and develop their confidence in and around the water. Aquamoves offers a range of aquatic, health and fitness opportunities including swimming, learn-to-swim programs, group fitness, gym facilities and recreational activities.
