ARCIA Sydney Critical Communications Conference

NSW Telco Authority Managing Director Kylie De Courteney and Director of Product Management Daniel Wright presented at the Australian Radio Communications Industry Association (ARCIA) Critical Communications conference in Sydney on 30 May 2024.

Kylie reaffirmed the need to accelerate a national Public Safety Mobile Broadband (PSMB) capability, providing a glimpse into future uses of PSMB and current global models.

She emphasised the benefits PSMB will provide to first responders, including access to high-speed mobile voice and data services and improved responses to critical incidents.

Daniel spoke about innovative collaborations with industry and government to design and implement groundbreaking solutions that will enhance statewide connectivity.

Our product experiments – such as the Broadband Connectivity Drone and Next generation cells on wheels – aim to enhance both the Public Safety Network and a future PSMB, while delivering the lifesaving communications emergency services and communities need now.

Daniel reiterated the importance of leveraging the experience of industry, government and emergency services to solve complex connectivity challenges while keeping pace with rapid advances in technology.

ARCIA is the peak national body representing the land mobile radio and critical communications sector in Australia. The conference showcased thought leadership from government and industry on shaping the future of critical communications.
