The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested four male youths in relation to a stolen motor vehicle incident and subsequent police pursuit that occurred in Alice Springs early this morning.
Around 12:10am, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received reports that a vehicle had been stolen from an address in Nicker Crescent.
The victim confronted several youths inside the vehicle and was allegedly threatened with an edged weapon, before the offenders fled the scene damaging a gate in the process.
Multiple police units responded and the stolen vehicle was sighted on Bloomfield Street. Police tracked the vehicle and a pursuit was initiated as the vehicle travelled east along Larapinta Drive towards Alice Springs. Tyre deflation devices were successfully deployed at Flynn’s Grave, with the four offenders aged 11, 12, 13 and 13 being arrested after a short foot pursuit.
Two edged weapons were located inside the vehicle and seized by police.
The offenders remain in police custody and investigations are ongoing.
