Arrests – Stolen motor vehicles – Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have arrested 3 male youths in relation to an unlawful entry and stolen motor vehicle in Larapinta overnight.

Just after 1am, police CCTV operators observed a blue Mazda driving at speed around the Alice Springs CBD.

General duties, drone unit and the dog operations unit were deployed to co-ordinate a safe intervention for the vehicle, with a tyre deflation device successfully deployed.

The 16-year-old male driver and a 10-year-old male and 13-year-old male were arrested without incident, while an unknown fourth occupant fled from the scene.

Further investigations confirmed of the vehicle was stolen from an unlawful entry at a residence along Lyndavale Drive.

The 10-year-old male was conveyed home to a responsible adult.

The 16-year-old male and 13-year-old have been charged with unlawful use of motor vehicle and remain in custody.
