Arrests – Stolen motor vehicles – Wadeye and Batchelor

Northern Territory Police have arrested a group of youths in relation to two stolen vehicles yesterday afternoon.

On Sunday 3 December 2023, police received a report of a stolen Toyota Hilux from Wadeye travelling to Darwin containing 7 youths.

Upon travelling through Batchelor, it is reported that the youths stole another vehicle and continued in convoy to Darwin.

On Sunday afternoon, Detectives from Strike Force Trident and the Dog Operations Unit deployed to an address in Moil where the stolen Toyota Hilux from Wadeye was located and 6 male youths, aged between 14-years-old and 17-years-old, were subsequently arrested.

A 17-year-old male youth was apprehended by Patrol Dog Wedge and is expected to be charged at a later date.

A short time later, police located the second stolen motor vehicle at an address in Palmerston, where another 14-year-old youth was arrested.

Police urge anyone who witnesses crime or antisocial behaviour to contact police on 131 444.
