Griffith Regional Art Gallery will wrap up its 2021 program on Thursday 2 December with a celebration to launch Objects of Desire, a local arts, crafts and artisan exhibition focused on beautiful handcrafted gifts.
Griffith Regional Art Gallery Coordinator, Ray Wholohan said, the Objects of Desire exhibition has become a very popular part of the annual exhibition program.
“The exhibition is geared towards the tradition of purchasing beautiful, handcrafted gifts for family, friends and loved ones during the lead up to Christmas and the holiday session,” said Mr Wholohan.
“This year we have a fantastic stable of artists including Sophie Chauncy, Sharon De Valentin, Fiona Ellis, Hanna Ellis, Sue Fordham, Jason Richardson, Di Tarr and other Riverina based artists and craftspeople.”
Mr Wholohan said sparkling wine, provided by sponsors Dee Vine Estate and a delicious grazing platter, will set the mood.
“Visitors will be able to peruse the carefully selected artisan gifts made by local artists as well as the quality handmade products in our gift shop,” said Mr Wholohan.
Griffith Regional Arts and Museum Manager, Margaret Andreazza said, “We have a range of beautiful products for sale such as candles, tea towels, ceramics, textiles, tea lights, soaps, cards, stickers, jewellery, skin care products and of course artworks. Our gallery shop also has cards, puzzles, books, stationary, prints and much more!”
“With so many thoughtfully and finely crafted works created by our region’s many talented craftspeople, we are sure that our visitors will be able to find the perfect Christmas gift for just about anyone, at the same time supporting local artists and small businesses,” Mr Wholohan concluded.
This is a free event, but bring your spending money. Objects of Desire will be held at Griffith Regional Art Gallery on Thursday 2 December 2021 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.
