Ashurst expands Disputes & Investigations offering with senior white collar hire in London

Global law firm Ashurst has hired white collar crime and investigations practitioner Judith Seddon as a partner in London, as the firm continues to grow its Disputes & Investigations offering.

One of the UK’s top white collar practitioners, Judith specialises in representing clients on matters relating to financial and corporate crime and in regulatory, criminal and internal investigations and enforcement proceedings. She regularly advises clients in relation to complex SFO and FCA investigations, and has particular experience of acting on cross-border investigations brought by international prosecuting authorities.

“I am delighted to welcome Judith Seddon to Ashurst”, said Tom Connor, co-head of the Disputes, Investigations and Advisory Division. “Judith is a renowned white collar practitioner, with a fantastic market reputation. Judith’s hire follows the additions of Philip Linton and Nathan Willmott in London, as we continue to build out our Investigations capability.”

Global CEO of Ashurst, Paul Jenkins, added: “Investing in our Disputes & Investigations practice is a strategic focus for Ashurst. We are seeing clients across sectors and geographies facing an increasing risk of regulatory investigation and prosecution, with a particular focus on financial crime, sanctions and AML. We are adding Judith to our existing global team, which includes our Risk Advisory and New Law capability, to ensure that we are in the best position possible to help our clients respond to these issues.”

“I am excited to be joining Ashurst” said Judith Seddon. “Ashurst’s strong financial services and corporate client relationships provides an excellent platform for Investigations work. I am looking forward to working with Ruby Hamid and the wider team and supporting the growth of Ashurst’s Investigations practice.”

Judith joins Ashurst from Dechert where she was most recently partner.
