Ashurst Perkins Coie continues to expand London private capital offering with partner hire

Global law firm Ashurst Perkins Coie announces the appointment of Tom Jaggers as partner in the corporate practice, based in London, as the firm continues to expand its global private capital team.

Tom joins from Oaktree, where he was a Managing Director in the European Principal (Private Equity) Group, responsible for the structuring and execution of investments across Europe. Tom has worked at Oaktree for the past 16 years, prior to which he spent nine years in private practice at an international law firm.

“Tom is a great addition to our Private Equity offering across both the UK and Continental Europe”, said Jason Radford, Global Co-Head of Corporate. “His IC, board director, commercial and origination experience adds a real string to our bow and is the perfect complement to an existing team that has expanded significantly in recent months. His appointment reflects our continued strategic focus on growing our UK private capital platform at a time when sponsors are looking for advisers who truly understand all aspects of a transaction.”

James Fletcher, Co-Head of Corporate (EMEA) added: “Tom’s unique sponsor-side skill set, and broad depth of board experience make him a very valuable addition for our clients. As the market enters a new phase of growth, with mid-market activity holding firm and large-cap sponsors deploying capital into increasingly sophisticated transactions, the ability to offer genuine insight from the principal’s perspective is a powerful differentiator.”

Tom said: “I am excited to be joining Ashurst Perkins Coie and look forward to leveraging my experience and relationships to contribute to the continued growth and success of the firm’s corporate practice. The firm’s strong client relationships with both sponsors and portfolio companies, combined with a global platform, align with my background, and I look forward to working alongside the team to deliver for clients across the UK and Europe.”
