Attempted carjacking and stealing – Albion Street, Invermay

Police are investigating the attempted carjacking of a motor vehicle on Albion Street, Invermay around 11pm last night.

Three men attempted to steal the car from an Invermay man by demanding he get out of the Toyota Camry that he was sitting in.

Although the car was not stolen, the men attempted to pull a set of keys from the ignition, in doing so breaking them apart and stealing other keys and a fob before running from the scene towards Taylor Street.

Launceston Uniform Police and Forensic Services attended the scene and investigations are ongoing.

The description of the men is that they are all aged in their late teens / early 20’s, one wearing a grey hooded jumper and blue jeans, the second wearing a red collard shirt and the third man was wearing all dark clothing.
