Attempted Drug Manufacture Charge – Maddington

Drug & Firearm Squad detectives have charged a man in relation to the attempted manufacture of Methylamphetamine, after a search warrant was executed at a residence in Maddington yesterday, Wednesday 12 February 2020.

Detectives executed a Misuse of Drugs Act search warrant at a residence in Gunby Street. The residence was searched and it will be alleged items and chemicals consistent with those used to manufacture Methylamphetamine were located.

Two people at the residence were detained.

The residence remained under police guard overnight and specialist personnel from ChemCentre will attend to day to assist with the assessment, identification and safe removal of the items.

A 37-year-old man from Maddington has been charged with Attempt to Manufacture a Prohibited Drug. He was refused bail and is due to appear in the Armadale Magistrates Court today, Thursday 13 February 2020.

The second person was released, and the investigation is ongoing.
