Dust off your cork hats and get your flags ready – Australia Day 2024 is almost here in Camden.

Residents are encouraged to head down to Argyle Street in Camden from 9am on Friday 26 January to see some incredible roving entertainment, and then at 10am enjoy the much-loved Macarthur Lions Australia Day Street Parade which will conclude at 11am.

Also taking place on Australia Day will be Camden’s first Citizenship Ceremony for 2024, which will welcome more than 100 residents as they take their pledge to be true-blue Aussies.

The Australia Day Awards will also crown Camden’s Citizen of the Year and Young Citizen of the Year, and hand out a Sports Achievement Award, Community Group Award and Arts and Cultural Award.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Ashleigh Cagney, said she was excited to see the community come together.

“Australia Day is a time for all Australians to reflect, respect and celebrate,” she said.

“It’s about coming together to reflect and celebrate our nation, its achievements and most of all, its people.

“I encourage everyone to head down to the Camden CBD and mark Australia Day with us.”
