Australia will meet hosts the Philippines in their opening match of the 2022 AFF Women’s Championships on 4 July 2022 at the Biñan Football Stadium, Biñan as their full tournament schedule was confirmed.
Drawn in Group A, the Australian Representative team will then face Thailand (6 July), Indonesia (8 July) and Singapore (10 July), before completing group play against Malaysia on 12 July 2022.
Head coach Melissa Andreatta has also made additions to the Preliminary Squad following the CommBank Young Matildas recent internationals against New Zealand.
Forwards Jyana Dos Santos and Caitlin Karic have been included in the extended roster alongside midfielder Alana Murphy. Andreatta is set to finalise the 28-player squad to participate in the Championships following the conclusion of the CommBank Matildas June FIFA Window.
2022 will mark Australia’s sixth appearance at the biennial competition with the Aussies holding a strong record in the ASEAN tournament.
