AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE FORCE’S BEST SHOTS MEET IN QUEENSLAND

Men and women from the Australian Defence Force (ADF) have gathered at the Greenbank Training Area (GBTA) to compete in the ADF’s premier combat marksmanship competition, the Australian Army Skill at Arms Meet (AASAM).

Conducted annually by the Australian Army’s Combined Arms Training Centre, AASAM will host over 160 participants from all three Services, who will compete in rigorous and dynamic shooting practices that will challenge their endurance and shooting capability.

AASAM will be conducted between 13 March and 19 March and will allow the participants to compete at the highest level of ADF combat shooting while building camaraderie between the Services.

Participants will compete in an extensive variety of real-world scenarios as both a team and as individuals encompassing day and night shooting, assault courses and robotic target matches.

The competition will identify the champion shot of the three Services as well as select the Australian Army Combat Shooting Team to represent the Australian Army in future international marksmanship competitions.

AASAM is not open to the Australian public but can be followed on Army’s social media channels.
