Australian Eco Company Takes Gold Medal In UK Awards

A blend of unique certified organic cold-pressed seed oils, GLORY OIL™ won against a formidable group of global entries in the UK Green Parent Natural Beauty Awards.

It all started ten years ago in a tiny tin shed in the backyard of her Currumbin home – single mum, Sonya Driver, made history. In 2010, Sonya not only had her marriage vanish but also watched as her younger sister was diagnosed with a melanoma.

She used this as a turning point, picking herself up from the floor and resolving to make a positive impact on the world and others. And thus, Eco Tan was born.

Years later, with nothing but sheer determination and passion, Sonya has managed to build a multi-million dollar, global award-winning empire with a product sold online every minute!

With a truckload of global award wins under their belt, including thousands of stockists and millions of happy customers around the world, this cult beauty brand has become a force to be reckoned with.

In 2011, Eco Tan became the first Australia organic tan manufacturer to be certified organic by the Organic Food Chain Australia. They are also proudly Certified Toxic Free by Safe Cosmetics Australia, Choose Cruelty Free and licensed by PETA.

“Eco Tan was founded on the principles of authenticity and transparency, which is why our certifications are so important,” says Sonya. “The truth is always visible.”

“I am an innovator not an imitator,” says Sonya. “I crave to be unique and to set new bench marks in clean beauty and world sustainable practices.

It hasn’t always been smooth sailing for Sonya. In fact, the inspiration for Eco Tan blossomed from some dark moments. After having a large basal cell carcinoma cut from her face in May 2017, Sonya resolved to create something that would help reduce the appearance of scars and fine lines.

Enter Glory Oil™! Since the February 2018 launch the remarkable Certified Organic, multi-award-winning Glory Oil™ product has now taken the world by storm selling hundreds of thousands of Glory Oils worldwide.

But Glory Oil™ isn’t the only ground-breaking product for the Gold Coast-based company. Eco Tan actually changed the self-tanning market back in 2015 with the launch of their Eco Tan Face Tan Water. The first of its kind, this revolutionary multi award winning gradual self-tanning toner has a phenomenal cult following worldwide.

Kell from Taree, NSW, is one of Eco Tan’s thousands of happy customers, claiming their Glory Oil dramatically reduced the appearance of her husband’s cancer removal scar in just three weeks.

“Safe to say this product is amazing!!! It’s magical.” Kell wrote, “This after photo is just 3 weeks of using the Glory Oil. Please note: this photo has no filter, no edits at all!”

The immense success of Glory Oil™ and strong growth it sparked caught the eye of beauty buyers for the Australian retail goliath, MYER. In late 2018, Eco Tan launched its full range in MYER stores across the country.

However, what makes Eco Tan stand out within the beauty industry is their dedication to helping others. Eco Tan is proud to be a global philanthropic company and it’s the huge success of the company that allows them to give and it sets them apart from others.

“Eco Tan is about lifting people up.” says Sonya.

Sonya lives up to her promise of helping others too with Eco Tan regularly donating and contributing to over 20 charities and foundations around the world. Just last year, they saved a Gold Coast domestic violence shelter, from closure by donating $50,000 AUD.

“Every day we ask ourselves who can we help… we get excited by being givers.” says Sonya. “We have a menagerie of charities, causes and people we lift up, because nothing compares to love.”

“I love it that the RSPCA call us when they needed to raise money after a tragic cruelty raid on a property.”

Rafiki Mwema is one such charity Sonya and the Eco Tan team support. For the last decade, the team at Australian-based Rafiki Mwema have built a safe farm where they look after children who are victims of horrific abuse in Kenya.

Last year, Sonya, with the help of Rafiki Mwema Ambassador Celeste Barber, hatched a plan to raise money and give the charity the boost it needed. They raised $100, 000 in just five days.

In November 2018, Eco Tan launched the Eco By Sonya Hand & Nail Cream for Rafiki Mwema – their first not-for-profit product, sold online and worldwide via stockists. 100% of the company’s profits from the sale of this product go directly to Rafiki Mwema, in order to provide a long-term fundraising solution for the charity.

With even more planned to come in the future, keep your eyes on this amazing Aussie-based organic company.
