The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) has partnered with Australian-owned construction group Built to support The Park – the Australian Sports Commission’s innovation hub designed to connect cutting-edge technology with the real-world needs of Australian sport.

As the high-performance arm of the ASC, the AIS plays a central role in bringing together athletes, coaches, researchers and industry to solve the sport system’s most complex challenges. Through this partnership, Built will support The Park as it accelerates new ideas and technologies with the potential to deliver impact across multiple sports.

The Park is an innovation hub led by the ASC, connecting technology-driven organisations with the Australian sport sector to tackle critical challenges and unlock system-wide value.

It focuses on priority areas such as data and AI, next-generation wearables, digital simulation technologies, athlete performance innovation and sustainability – all aimed at strengthening Australia’s sporting system through this exciting period.

Built joins the initiative as a partner aligned to this vision – bringing a digital-first, data-driven perspective and a commitment to innovation that mirrors the approach taken across high-performance sport.

ASC CEO Kieren Perkins has welcomed the partnership.

“Partnerships like this help us bring new perspectives into the system. The Park is about working differently – connecting sectors, sharing expertise and accelerating innovation that benefits all of Australian sport.”

Built CEO, Construction, David Paterson said the partnership reflects a shared belief in the power of collaboration to solve complex challenges.

“This partnership is about challenging both of us to think differently. By bringing together what we’re learning in digital construction with the AIS’s approach to research and innovation, we can unlock ideas that neither sector would reach on its own.”

Through The Park, the AIS and Built will work alongside industry and sport partners to co-design, test and scale solutions that can deliver lasting value – from improved performance outcomes to greater efficiency and sustainability across the sector.
