A Matthew Guy Liberals and Nationals Government will back grassroots sport and give local families access to new facilities by delivering $150,000 to upgrade the Grovedale Football Netball Club.
The existing scoreboard, currently run by hand, will be replaced by a new electronic screen which will streamline the scorekeeping process.
Additionally, the Liberals and Nationals funding will deliver new sports netting at both ends of the football oval – improving the safety of spectators, pedestrians and those in neighbouring properties.
Leader of the Opposition, Matthew Guy said local community sports clubs need support so they can have the certainty to recover and rebuild from the disrupted past two years.
“This investment will mean local families that call the Grovedale Football Netball Club home will be able to do so for many years to come.”
Block out blinds and air conditioning will be installed in the netball changerooms, which will also undergo a refurbishment.
Liberal Candidate for South Barwon, Andrew Katos said it was important for government to play its role in supporting community sport.
“We need investment in grassroots sport to ensure locals have access to the best facilities and the encouragement to stay active,”
