BASSINTHEGRASS a raging success, and music continues

NT Government

The Northern Territory’s biggest-ever music festival ended on a high last night with thousands of fans singing along to closing acts Peking Duk and Violent Soho.

BASSINTHEGRASS featured 12 hours of non-stop entertainment with 14,000 music lovers in attendance, including thousands of interstate visitors.

Early Bird tickets to BASSINTHEGRASS 2022 are already on sale with many of the 1500 tickets on sale already snapped up.

The date for next year’s event has been confirmed as 21 May, 2022.

BASSINTHEGRASS might be over for 2021, but the music doesn’t stop yet, with a special Sunday session taking place at Mindil Beach Sunset Markets today with BOO SEEKA, fresh off the BASSINTHEGRASS stage.

They will be joined by BASSINTHEGRASS DJ/MC Vyce Verso, and Territory acts Casii Williams, Scrubfowl and Dave Crow from 3.50pm at the Soundshell.

The success of this year’s BASSINTHEGRASS was significant as it was one of the first major music festivals to take place in Australia since social gathering restrictions eased.

Quotes from Acting Minister for Major Events Chansey Paech:

“This was an epic BASSINTHEGRASS with some of the best Australian music performers gracing the stage here in the Territory.

“The Northern Territory has put itself on the map as the place to be for sensational music festivals after more than a year of either no gigs, or events with restrictions and limited capacity.

“To see 14,000 people enjoying a massive day out by the beach is a remarkable achievement which would not have been possible if we had not kept COVID-19 out of the Territory.”
