Bayside Disaster Assistance

Bayside LGA is one of 45 LGAs in NSW where several Federal and State Government grants are now available to assist affected individuals and businesses recover from the recent severe weather.

“I would like to thank Council staff who worked closely with SES and NSW Police in the aftermath the flash flooding in Bayside caused by excessive rain and a high tide,” Mayor Dr Christina Curry said.

“The clean-up has already begun with Council staff removing debris from the streets and assessing the damage to roads.”

“This Government assistance will help ensure communities can recover, rebuild and return to some sort of normality as soon as possible.”

Assistance is being provided through the jointly funded Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).

Residents may be eligible for DRFA assistance now available in 45 LGAs in NSW and includes:

  • Help for eligible people whose homes or belongings have been damaged (eligibility criteria apply)
  • Support for affected local councils to help with the costs of cleaning up and restoring damaged essential public assets
  • Financial assistance for small businesses, primary producers and non-profit organisations
