Beach Permits Fund Improvements

MidCoast Council

Beach driving permit fees are helping improve beach access across the MidCoast, with upgrades underway at Boomerang Beach.

Four beach accessways at Boomerang Beach are being renewed ahead of the busy summer period, providing safer and improved access to the beach.

Works include replacing ageing decking and stairs and adding new landings to better connect the accessways with road entry points.

Two of the four accessways have already been completed, including the access at the northern end of the car park.

Work on the remaining two accessways is expected to be completed by the end of September.

The upgrades are being delivered through Council’s Beach Access Renewals Budget, which is funded by the purchase of beach driving permits.

Funds raised through beach driving permits help Council maintain and improve beach access infrastructure, meaning permit holders are contributing to improvements that benefit all beach users across the MidCoast.

Beach driving permits are available through Council’s website.
