Beat Heat this Spring with Western Downs Pool Parties

Get your swimmers ready, gather your pals, and cool down at the Western Downs Regional Pool Parties, featuring thrilling activities scheduled across multiple towns in November.

Council has teamed up with SwimFit to bring back the popular jam-packed days of fun, offering communities the opportunity to tackle the giant inflatable and enjoy the warmer days with friends in Dalby, Wandoan, Chinchilla, and Jandowae.

Council Spokesperson for Community and Cultural Development Councillor Kaye Maguire said she was excited to see the much-anticipated return of the beloved pool parties this year and warmly encouraged residents to enjoy the fun.

“We consistently receive fantastic comments from residents who express their enjoyment of our pool parties, especially from our younger community members,” Cr Maguire said.

“Hosting the pool parties is also an excellent way to showcase our facilities and foster connections among people, which is all part of Council’s commitment to cultivate and nurture the active, vibrant communities we’re so proud to be a part of.

“In February and March of this year, our pool parties attracted big crowds, with around 637 people attending. We all know that it’s the people that make it on the Western Downs, and with turnouts like this it’s exciting that we’re able to offer even more pool parties next month to welcome the arrival of spring.

‘Entry to the pool parties’ costs $3 per person, with food and drink available for purchase. There will be lifeguards on duty to guarantee everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience.

“In addition to our fantastic pool parties this season, Council is also throwing a massive family pool party to celebrate the completion of the Tara Aquatic Centre on Saturday 28 October from 10am to 2pm, and everyone is welcome.
