Campaspe Shire Council is calling upon the next wave of young leaders to join its ranks, fostering a dynamic platform for collaboration and youth-driven initiatives in the Youth Action Group (YAG).

Mayor Rob Amos encouraged young individuals to seize the opportunity to join the YAG, ensuring its diversity and representation of all backgrounds across the shire.

“The Youth Action Group plays a pivotal role in advising the Council, steering youth-focused programs, and enhancing the social fabric for young people in the shire.

“The group performs a vital role, providing a youth perspective on key Council policies, strategies and plans.

A newly appointed Youth Community Development Officer, Kane Stewart will be working with the YAG and the Mayor encouraged young people to reach out to Kane if they would like to know more about the group.

“Kane has been an active member of the NSW Government Regional Youth Taskforce and has worked on events and programs and working with young people, so we are excited to have him on board and ready to reinvigorate the Youth Action Group in Campaspe.

“Joining the YAG is a fantastic way for young people to learn new skills that can help them in other parts of their lives as they attend meetings, organise events and drive youth initiatives.

“Many of Campaspe’s YAG previous members have gone on to gain employment, further education and advocacy roles based on their involvement with the group,” Mayor Amos said.

Applications to join the Youth Action Group can be completed via the online form on Council’s website.
