Coles’ award-winning buns down to $3.00 a pack this weekend

Coles has cut the price of its award-winning hot cross buns this weekend to give Australian families stuck at home a treat as they adjust to spending the school holidays at home this year.

Coles’ CHOICE-recommended traditional hot cross buns are made with 100% Australian fruit, wowing the judging panel on appearance, aroma, texture and flavour.

From now until April 7 customers can pick up a 6-pack of Coles traditional, chocolate or apple and cinnamon hot cross buns for just $3.00 a pack down from $3.50, with luxury Coles Finest by Laurent sourdough hot cross buns down to only $2.50 for a 4-pack down from $3.50.

Coles Senior Category Manager Freddie Hancock said Coles wanted to help customers enjoy a comforting treat as they adjust to a very different type of Easter holiday.

“We know Easter this year is going to be unlike any other, but we wanted to do our bit to ensure customers can enjoy the holidays as much as possible,” he said.

“We’ve been selling hot cross buns since Boxing Day because we know some customers just can’t wait for them, but in the week up to Easter itself is when even the diehard traditionalists begin to fancy a bun, so we hope as many people as possible get to take advantage of this offer.”

Customers are also flocking to new Easter-themed foods such as Coles’ new limited edition hot cross bun-flavoured popcorn.

Using the delicious flavour profile of the traditional hot cross bun, the Coles Hot Cross Bun Popcorn is made with Australian kettle-popped popcorn dusted with a sweet cinnamon and spice seasoning – the perfect Easter alternative for customers who can’t regularly to make it to a store.

Coles Traditional, Chocolate and Apple & Cinnamon hot cross buns are CHOICE recommended and on special for $3.00 for a 6 pack, until Tuesday 7 April.
