Bombala Caravan Park and Ginger Leigh Playground Upgrades

Bombala River Walk.JPG

It’s a hive of activity along the Bombala River right now with upgrades underway at the Bombala Caravan Park and Ginger Leigh Playground.

Thanks to funding received under the Australian Government’s Drought Communities Programme (DCP) Extension and Council’s own Bombala Reserve Fund, works have commenced on stage two of the Ginger Leigh Playground with additions to the recreational facility and surrounds including:

  • an additional BBQ in the gazebo
  • ·new bins
  • enhanced lighting
  • refreshed landscaping and vegetation
  • upgrades to the carpark and road
  • a playground boundary fence
  • learner bike track
  • playground equipment
  • tables
  • installation of unisex all abilities toilet with change room

Works are now also underway at Bombala Caravan Park with a new dump point, new sewer setup and connection of new and existing amenities to the upgraded infrastructure. This will be a great step up for visitors to the area who utilise the town as a stopping point on their travels to/from Victoria.

Access to Bombala Caravan Park will not be affected, but access to public amenities in the carpark and playground parking area will be disrupted at times while work is underway.

The project is expected to be completed by early September 2022, weather permitting.

We appreciate the community’s patience while these necessary upgrades are performed and exciting new additions are constructed.
