The Crisafulli Government is making Queensland safer, with more Queensland small and family businesses benefiting from a safer operating environment under the latest round of the $40 million Secure Communities Partnership Program.
More than 170 small and family businesses have shared almost $2 million under this round of the program.
The Crisafulli Government is restoring safety where you live and turning the tide on Labor’s Youth Crime Crisi with measures including stronger laws and more police on the ground, which is already delivering positive early results.
The small businesses supported in this round of funding represent a diverse range of industries, including allied health, trades, manufacturing and hospitality among others.
Small businesses participating in the program are partners in creating safer communities through the enhancement of their security including CCTV, bollards, secure fencing, upgraded alarm systems, and improved lighting.
These measures are helping protect livelihoods, creating safer workplaces, and fostering stronger, more secure communities across the State, is just one of the ways the Crisafulli Government is delivering better services through a stronger economy.
The first 62 successful small business recipients of this round were announced on 28 May with a further 112 additional recipients announced under the latest tranche.
Minister for Small and Family Business Steve Minnikin said the Secure Communities Partnership Program had reached a significant milestone with two completed rounds now delivered.
“This program is a testament to the Crisafulli Government’s commitment to ensuring small and family businesses across the State have the tools they need to operate in a safer environment,” Minister Minnikin said.
“From local retailers to tradespeople and hospitality operators, small businesses are the lifeblood of our communities, and we are proud to stand with them.
“This funding will continue to allow more businesses around our State to implement practical, effective crime prevention that will not only protect their premises, operations and staff but also protect our business owner’s peace of mind.
“To date, the program has provided vital security upgrades to thousands of small businesses and their staff across Queensland, helping to create safer communities while driving the economic growth of small and family businesses.”
