Families and students in Mount Waverley and surrounding areas are set to win under a major new commitment from the Liberals and Nationals to upgrade the senior campus at Mount Waverley Secondary College.
A Matthew Guy Liberals and Nationals Government will provide $35 million for the rebuild of the senior campus at Mount Waverley Secondary College, as it is well overdue with current buildings outdated and no longer fit for purpose.
The school rebuild will include an updated master plan and construction of:
- modern, permanent classrooms for all year levels;
- a fit out and resupply of the new Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) centre;
- a new, larger school theatre for students and community groups;
- a school hall for school assemblies, local community, dance, and ballet groups;
- improved facilities for use by the local Xin Jin Shan Chinese Language School;
- refurbishment of tennis, netball, and basketball courts.
Leader of the Opposition, Matthew Guy, said this important upgrade is part of the Liberals and Nationals’ plan to recover and rebuild.
“The Mount Waverley community is growing rapidly and locals deserve a government that delivers the projects they need, when they need it.”
“Mount Waverley Secondary College has been constantly overlooked by Labor and only a Liberals and Nationals Government will deliver the facilities upgrades it deserves.”
Liberal Candidate for Ashwood, Asher Judah, said our $35 million rebuild of the senior campus at Mount Waverley Secondary College will ensure local families have a world class education institution on their doorstep.
“This significant investment will deliver better facilities for students and the local community at Mount Waverley Secondary,” Mr Judah said.
