Break and enter – Helensvale

Police are investigating the break and enter of a shopping centre at Helensvale in the early hours of this morning.

Around 4.25am a dark coloured sedan was driven through the entry doors of the Milaroo Drive shopping centre. The vehicle was then driven through the shopping centre and again used to ram into a jewellery store to gain access.

A 40-year-old male security guard attended the centre finding the vehicle at the jewellery store while the three offenders were in the process of stealing a substantial amount of jewellery.

The security guard was confronted by the offenders who made threats while one of the offenders was holding a large ice pick style implement.

The offenders got back into their vehicle driving back out of the shopping centre with jewellery stolen from the store and were last seen heading east bound on Brisbane Road.

The security guard sustained a minor injury to his hand when the offender’s drove off.
