Brimbank welcomes mural at memorial site

Brimbank City Council’s most recent mural has been completed at Sydenham Memorial, located at Watergardens Town Centre, to complement the existing memorial as a site for contemplation.

The mural depicts the men and women from the Sydenham district who served their country, surrounded by vivid red poppy flowers.

Painted by local Brimbank artist known as Heesco, who is a Mongolian-Australian muralist and fine artist.

Heesco is currently Australia’s most prolific silo artist to date with five silos and a water tower to his name, and his prized works featured in publications around the world. Heesco has created works for United Nations and collaborated with many international corporate brands.

Brimbank community and public spaces are proudly enhanced with diverse contemporary art forms which encourage reflection on our unique heritage, our neighbourhoods, and the aspirations of our communities.
