Broome Detectives have charged a man in relation to three separate incidents in the Broome area on Wednesday 10 June 2020 and Thursday 11 June 2020.
It will be alleged in the first incident a man gained entry to a residence. It will be further alleged the victim, who is a female aged between 13 and 16 years old, woke to find the man on her bed with her. The victim screamed and ran to alert a family member. The man fled the scene.
It will be alleged in the second incident the female victim, who is under 18 years old, woke to find a man who was staying at the same residence lying beside her and attempting to remove her clothes. The victim and other occupants of the residence told the man to leave.
It will be alleged in the third incident the man gained entry to a residence. It will be further alleged the victims, an adult woman and a female child under 13 years old, woke to find the man armed with a knife in their room. Both victims were threatened and sexually assaulted.
About 10:00pm last night, Monday 15 June 2020, Broome Detectives with support from Sex Assault Squad and Kimberley Canine Unit attended a vacant house in Cable Beach. Police Dog Hank was deployed inside the house, where a 36-year-old man was located hiding in a bathtub. The man was arrested without incident.

– Aggravated home burglary and commit
– Committed a sexual offence against child between 13 and 16 in the course of an aggravated home burglary
Incident 2
– Unlawful and indecent assault
Incident 3
– Aggravated home burglary and commit
– 6 x Committed a sexual offence against child under 13 in the course of an aggravated home burglary
– Committed aggravated sexual penetration without consent in the course of an aggravated home burglary
– 2 x Deprivation of Liberty
– 2 x Threat with Intent to Compel the doing of an Act
– Stealing
He was refused bail and is due to appear in the Broome Magistrates Court today, Tuesday 16 June 2020.
