The $1.8 million project, fully funded by the City of Ballarat, has commenced and will feature new irrigation and drainage, as well as new fencing, landscaping and lighting.
McMahons Pty Ltd has been commissioned to construct the two senior pitches.
Work on the project will continue throughout this year and be ready for next year’s soccer season.
The site is also home to the Friends of Royal Park, which has a community garden on the site.
“This new project will bring facilities at Buninyong Soccer Club to a whole new level,” the Mayor, Cr Ben Taylor, said.
“The new improvements will bring the new pitches up to standard and finally provide female friendly change rooms for the club.
“We all look forward to the completion of these works and the first matches to be played on the new grounds.”
