Buses on demand for Sunbury

Liberal Party Victoria

A Matt Guy Liberals and Nationals Government will deliver a new FlexiRide service for Sunbury to improve public transport access for local residents.

Residents in Sunbury will be able to access on-demand bus services to connect them directly to the railway station, community facilities and schools.

The new FlexiRide service will operate from 6am to 9.30pm on weekdays, 7am to 9.30pm on Saturdays and 8am to 9.30pm on Sundays and public holidays.

The service will not have a fixed route, with passengers able to book a seat and be collected at their nearest pick up location and transported to dedicated hubs around Sunbury.

This commitment also complements the Liberals and Nationals’ $2 flat fare which will apply to travel on the metropolitan train, tram and bus network.

Shadow Minister for Public Transport, Danny O’Brien, said getting on with this important project will ease the commute for hundreds of residents across Sunbury.

“Traffic congestion and public transport accessibility are critical issues in our area that have been overlooked by the Andrews Labor Government.”

“As part of the Liberals and Nationals’ integrated public transport plan, this will immediately connect Victorians to their places of work, entertainment and education.”

Liberal Candidate for Sunbury, Simmone Cottom, said it was important that public transport kept up with demand, so families and residents have better options for their commute.

“Our bus line has had the same routes for 12 years now, and it’s vital we extend the lines into new estates and extend the hours to help more locals get home.”

“Only a Matt Guy Liberals and Nationals Government will bring better public transport links to Sunbury.”
