COVID-19 transition information session for businesses
The Public Health Emergency Declaration is expected to end on 30 June 2022. This means the end of mandatory health directions across the Tasmanian community and in workplaces.
The change will see a new phase of Tasmania’s response to COVID-19. This online information session hosted by Business Tasmania will provide an overview of the changes and what your business will be required to do to manage the ongoing risks of COVID-19 in the workplace.
We encourage all Tasmanian businesses to join this session to hear from Dr Mark Veitch and Jenny Kaldor from Public Health and Robyn Pearce from WorkSafe. For businesses unable to join the live event from 3 pm to 4.30 pm on Thursday 23 June, it will be recorded and made available on the Business Tasmania website.

Mask requirements are changing
The Premier has announced that in line with Public Health advice, Tasmania will gradually step down a number of our last remaining restrictions in the coming weeks. The COVID Transition Information Session featured above will take you through what this means for your business.
From 12.01 am Saturday 18 June, there will no longer be a requirement to wear masks in Tasmanian airports, although people will still be required to wear masks while on planes, in line with the national approach.
From 12.01 am Saturday 25 June, people will no longer be required to wear face masks on public transport, including the Spirit of Tasmania, and it will no longer be a requirement for masks to be worn in schools, or early childhood education and care centres.
Additionally, from 30 June 2022, we will transition out of the Public Health Emergency Declaration, meaning the requirement to wear face masks in all other remaining settings such as hospitals, aged care facilities, disability providers and correctional facilities will not be mandatory, but will be based on a risk assessment for each setting.
