Businesses: Get a fabulous resource during Interns in Industry Program

Eastern region businesses can apply for a place in the popular Interns in Industry Program and add a whole new element to their toolbox for success.

Whitehorse Councillor Bill Bennett said the program was now running across three Councils with Whitehorse, Knox and Maroondah working together to help match businesses with interns.

“The annual program is a competitive, free internship program held between July and September, and is a great opportunity for interns and businesses alike,” Cr Bennett said.

“The program places established and final year undergraduate and postgraduate Deakin business students within eastern region businesses and organisations.

“Students complete between 100-120 hours of work with the host company and although businesses are not required to pay students, their participation allows them to gain credit towards their degree.”

It is an opportunity for businesses to connect with and utilise the skills and insights of Deakin University Business School students. The students’ specialised areas of study includes supply chain, human resources, marketing, banking and finance and many more.

Businesses interested in joining the program can attend an information session in March or April where representatives from Deakin Business School will speak about the program and participants will have the chance to discuss it one-on-one.
