Mount Gambier Police have seized cannabis plants after a suspicious package was detected by postal workers earlier this month.
Mount Gambier Police have seized cannabis plants after a suspicious package was detected by postal workers earlier this month.It will be alleged on 8 August, postal staff noticed a strong smell of cannabis emanating from a package. The parcel was handed to police and found to contain approximately 53 grams of cannabis in multiple sealed packages.
Following investigations, police attended and searched a Mount Gambier property on Friday 21 August.
During the search, officers located and seized 25 cannabis plants and more than 2.5 kilograms of dried cannabis for forensic examination.
A 55-year-old Mount Gambier man was arrested and charged with cultivate a commercial quantity of a controlled plant and trafficking in a commercial quantity of a controlled drug. He was bailed to appear in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court on 29 September.
