Police are investigating how a car crashed into the Ghan yesterday afternoon at Baroota.
About 3.15pm Wednesday 17 April emergency services were called to a level crossing on Park Road, just east of the Augusta Highway, after a Mazda 3 that had been travelling east crashed into the Ghan that had been travelling north, causing the Mazda to roll.
The driver and passenger in the Mazda, both 17-year-old boys from Port Augusta, sustained minor injuries and were taken to hospital.
The train came to a stop a short distance away; thankfully the drivers and passengers were not injured. The train was able to continue on its northward journey after swapping to another locomotive.
The Mazda was towed from the scene.
