Car crashes into front yard of home in Greenwich

Investigations are underway after a car has rolled and caught on fire following a single-vehicle crash in Greenwich this morning.

Shortly after 1am (Monday 7 October 2019), emergency services were called to River Road, near Anglo Lane, Greenwich, after reports a Mitsubishi Magna has lost control and crashed into a fence of the front yard of a home.

Firefighters attended and extinguished the blaze.

The occupants of the vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Royal North Shore Hospital as a precaution.

The driver was breath tested at the scene returning a negative result. He was taken to hospital where he will undergo mandatory testing.

The occupants of the home were uninjured.

Officers from North Shore Police Area Command attended and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Two eastbound lanes on River Road are currently closed.
