A woman has been robbed of her vehicle at Taperoo which was located later in the morning on fire at Elizabeth East.
Just before 1.30am on Monday, 1 July a woman was parked on the side of Mersey Road, Taperoo, when an unknown man got in the vehicle and assaulted the woman forcing her out of her vehicle. The man then sped off in the Holden station wagon north along Mersey Road.
Just before 5am, police and MFS were called to Dewey Street, Elizabeth East after reports that a car was on fire. The vehicle was identified as the one stolen from Taperoo. The fire was quickly extinguished by fire crews.
The victim received treatment for minor injuries at the scene.
