Car theft and deception in Brunswick

Brunswick police are investigating following the theft of a car and subsequent deception in Brunswick last month.

Police have been told a male victim observed an unknown man sitting in his partner’s white Holden Cruze on Moreland Road just after 4am on 4 March.

As he approached the car the man drove off.

A short time later the victim realised his own car had also been broken into and his wallet stolen.

Bank cards contained within the wallet were subsequently use at a service station on Moreland Road at 4.11am.

Investigators have released a CCTV image as well as a digital face image of a man who they believe can assist with their enquiries.

The man was described as having an olive complexion, aged in his 30s with dark hair, and was wearing a hat, polo shirt and blue jacket.

Anyone with information or who recognises the man is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppervic.com.au
