Local businesses with innovative approaches to decarbonising are invited to apply for the latest round of the Cook Labor Government’s $3.2 million Carbon Innovation Grants Program.
Now in its third round, the grants support feasibility studies and pilot projects that aim to drive down emissions in heavy industry and help decarbonise the State’s economy.
Western Australia is home to significant industrial activity and these grants support businesses and organisations to investigate, develop, and demonstrate innovative technologies that could lower emissions and help achieve net zero by 2050.
The $15 million Carbon Innovation Grants Program was a 2021 election commitment. Through the first two rounds, about $9.5 million has been allocated to 15 transformative projects, supporting initiatives with an estimated total value of approximately $60 million.
The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation will provide webinars and administrative support to applicants throughout the application period.
Applications are now open and will close on December 11.
